Gritty Cherries Inc., was founded by two black women that had a vision 20 years ago to build a platform for artistic collaboration and grow a diverse community of artists, unafraid to express their thoughts, emotions, life experiences, trauma, and world issues. Gritty Cherries, Inc. fully supports our nation to unite and stand up for justice, equity, equality and human rights. NOW is the time to SPEAK the words, HEAR the words and BELIEVE in the words, BLACK LIVES MATTER, because those three words are the only words that will bring integrity to ALL LIVES. Broken systems that support police brutality and racial injustice is UNACCEPTABLE! WE stand in SOLIDARITY with YOU. WE stand in PROTEST with YOU. WE stand in MOURNING with YOU and WE stand in HEALING with YOU.
THE ARTS are a healing tool that brings communities and cultures together to build a stronger lifeline of leaders for justice and humanity. We won’t stop creating. We will not stop speaking… OUT.
LET US keep the momentum going!
DONATE, GIVE, VOLUNTEER, SUPPORT or JUST SHOW UP.
Today, we would have walked for all those fighting against AIDS. However, due to the uprising of protests for Black Lives Matter, AIDS WALK NY canceled the virtual event in support of the movement. In lieu of the walk, Gritty Cherries, Inc. participated in the June 7th Black Lives Matter protest in the state’s capital.
We want to take this time to say a big THANK YOU to ALL who donated in helping Gritty Cherries Inc., reach our AIDS NY WALK goal. This cause is near and dear to our organization because it affects so many of our black, brown and LGBTQIA brothers and sisters. We urge you to continue to support the fight against AIDS.
To enhance awareness of Black Lives Matter, Gritty Cherries, Inc. is donating to and supporting the following organizations. We encourage you to contribute to communities affected by racial injustice, systemic and institutionalized racism. Friends, Family, Artists and Comrades for Change, we thank you for listening to us.
No Justice, No Peace.
Power in words,
